Our local bird species are struggling. Most people don’t realize that the loss of prime habitat caused by an unwelcome plant invasion is one of the main reasons. The challenges birds face are more urgent than ever. The City’s Hillmoor Commission and Avian Committee invite you to join us to learn what we can do about it.
Tommy Gunn, a forester for the American Bird Conservancy, will speak about why restoring the land especially in places like Hillmoor and our City Parks is so important to preserving our wildlife.
The American Bird Conservancy is an international nonprofit organization that takes bold action to preserve both the habitats and birds that depend upon each other for survival. Their efforts benefit human communities, biodiversity, and our planet’s fragile climate and ecological systems. They operate throughout North and South America.
