White River County Park – 6503 Sheridan Springs Road, Lyons, WI
Join us at beautiful White River Park for a nature hike and educational talk. Meet at the pavilion to the west of the parking lot.
6:00 PM: Nature Hike (approximately 1 hour)
We will walk the park’s trails to a hidden wetland and get some insight from an expert (Vince Mosca).
7:30 PM: Educational Talk (approximately 1 hour)
“Friends in Low Places”
Local ecologist Vince Mosca from Hey and Associates, Inc. and the Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge Board will present a program on wetland ecology and the White River. The program will focus on the common native and invasive plants animals of the corridor. He’ll discuss the ecosystem services provided by wetlands and upland buffers including water quality protection, habitats, and pollinators. Family friendly.
